Tips for Two-Person Drinking
Pace Yourselves
With only two people, there’s no crowd to dilute the drinking. Go with beer or wine instead of shots. Add snacks. Stay hydrated!
Set Boundaries
Especially for couples games—agree on limits before you start. Having a safe word isn’t just for the bedroom!
Make It Your Own
The best drinking games are the ones you customize. Inside jokes, shared interests, and personal questions make everything more fun.
Have a Backup
If a game isn’t working, move on. The goal is fun, not following rules perfectly.

Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the best drinking game for couples?
Truth or Drink is perfect for couples—it combines drinking with deep conversation and getting to know each other better. For something more physical, Drunk Jenga with couple-specific dares creates memorable moments. And Never Have I Ever gets revealing fast when it’s just the two of you!
Can you play drinking games with just 2 people?
Absolutely! Many drinking games work great—or even better—with just two people. Card games like Higher or Lower and War are designed for pairs. Verbal games like Never Have I Ever and Most Likely To become more personal. Movie drinking games are perfect for two. You just need the right games.
What drinking games can you play without cards?
Plenty! Try Never Have I Ever, Truth or Drink, Most Likely To, Two Truths and a Lie, or Would You Rather—all you need is drinks and conversation. Medusa and Fingers need nothing at all. Movie drinking games just need a screen. Word Association and Straight Face are also prop-free.
How do you make drinking games more fun for two people?
Personalize them! Use inside jokes in your questions. Add forfeits beyond just drinking (massage, dare, embarrassing text). Mix up games throughout the night. For couples, add romantic or spicy elements. The key is keeping it fresh and tailored to your relationship.
What’s a good drinking game for a date?
Start with something light like Would You Rather or Two Truths and a Lie—they’re great conversation starters. Then move to Truth or Drink as you get more comfortable. Couples Trivia is sweet for established relationships. Keep games focused on talking and learning about each other rather than pure drinking.
Ready for Game Night?
Two-person drinking games are underrated. You don’t need a crowd to have an epic night. Grab a partner, pick a game (or three), and enjoy!
